While the concert has been a tradition for more than 13 years, it became a two night event three years ago due to its popularity, said Nashua South choral director Sophia Santerre.

While Lerude and fellow concert choir member Kristofer Rosentel admitted that most members of the music department enjoy the Santa Fund concert because it is an opportunity to share the music that they love with the community, both said raising money for a good cause is an added bonus.
The concert will conclude with a performance of Handel's "Hallelujah Chorus." This finale will include more than 200 voices as all NHSS choral students are joined by chorus alumni, faculty and parents, and accompanied by students from the NHSS Concert Band.
Both Wendell and Tocci said they've known families who have struggled to pay for holiday expenses and said that has affected how they view the Santa Fund concert.
The Santa Fund Concert will feature an opening processional performed by 200 chorus students, followed by performances by the school's three choirs, under the direction of Santerre and the concert band, under the direction of Anthony Courounis Jr.
Santerre said getting students involved in giving back to the community is an important part of this event.
NASHUA For members of the Nashua High School South band and chorus, concerts are a chance to share their music and their hard work with family, friends and the rest of the community. Their annual Santa Fund Concert, however, means something more a chance to help those in need.
For Wendell, the Santa Fund Concert also gives her a feeling a pride.

Band members Ruth Wendell, a junior, and Nick Tocci, a senior, appreciate the feeling of helping others.
