Evans said this would create a new health science wing and would enable the college to add an additional 350 students. The Shelton Family Foundation, Taylor Electric, American State Bank and the Dodge Jones Foundation have given challenge grants to the college. Evans said several other requests for funding are pending. Evans said the challenge grants require the college to raise matching dollars or, in some cases, amount greater than the challenge grant, she said.

She said the college recently was awarded a $215,000 grant from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board to establish transition centers for the campuses in Abilene and in Cisco.
Evans said Cisco works well with Abilene Christian, McMurry and Hardin Simmons universities.
The tuition cost is $103 per credit hour, and scholarships are available. According to Amy Evans, public relations director for the college, the new building is currently being paid through revenue bonds, which are paid out of tuition and fees.

Many of their students have full time jobs, and Cisco meets their needs by offering evening courses.
3,000 of these students from Abilene. In 1999, the school had 67 full time faculty members and by 2009 it had grown to 80.

The college began offering academic courses in the summer of 1990. In the fall of 1999, it had reached an enrollment of 2,684 students with 1,990 of them coming from Abilene.
She said the centers would provide space for counselors from four year institutions to speak directly with Cisco students who are interested in continuing their education. Evans said the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools have approved the plans and visited Cisco College in October.

There are several part time faculty members with over 100 adjunct teachers. Some faculty members teach at both the Abilene campus and at Cisco. The college employees an additional 28 people in other roles, such as secretarial and maintenance positions.

Since moving to its new campus, the school is able to offer more courses in health, science fields, respiratory are, pharmacy technical, surgical technology and medical and nursing option.
